MERIT CERTIFICATES

The Board will award Merit Certificates in each subject to the top 0.1% of candidates passing the subject, provided that they have passed examination as per the pass criteria of the Board.
The number of Merit Certificates in a subject will be determined by rounding of the number of candidates passing the subject to the nearest multiple of thousand. If the number of candidates passing a subject is less than 500, no merit certificate will be issued.
In the matter of tie, if one student gets a Merit certificate, all candidates getting that score will get the Merit Certificate.

According to syllabus Jharkhand Academic open Board, there are six subjects for secondary that a student has to opt. Out of which student has to opt Hindi as first subject.

First Subject	:-	Hindi
Second Subject	:-	Student has to opt one out of following subjects English, Nepali, Telgu, English, Urdu, Gujrati, Marathi, kannada, Malyalam, Asami and other Languages
Third Subject	:-	Mathematics
Forth Subject	:-	Science
Fifth Subject	:-	Social Science
Sixth Subject	:-	Student has to opt one out of following subjects i. Sanskrit ii. Economics iii. Painting iv. Drawing v. Computer Science
